BIOGRAPHY

Leah's father was an amateur photographer. She started shooting with him, as a kid and always loved being behind the camera. Capturing moments on film has always been magical for her.

She caught the acting bug in her early teens after one of her friends made her audition and she was cast in a community production of JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR. By her late teens she was in NYC doing professional theater, tv and film.

As an actor herself, she had spent so many thousands of dollars on headshots. Most of the time they weren't the right looks or quality for her agents. It was always frustrating when she'd have to reshoot multiple times before getting it right. Leah wanted to take this into her own hands so in 2009, purchased a Canon 5D Mark ii and started shooting everything and everyone who would allow her. She fell in love with photography all over again.

After living in LA for a while and doing more on camera work she developed some anxiety around auditions and being on set. It was weird because she'd never felt that way when doing theater. After realizing she was ultimately developing anxiety because she was  camera SHY, she decided  to quit acting altogether and focus solely on photography.

In 2010, Leah got a call from a friend of a friend, asking if she knew anyone who might like to intern for their talent management company. She had always been curious about the other side of the business so decided to take the internship herself. That was when she really had an "aha" moment on what types of photos actors actually need in order to be noticed by casting.

She also realized how incredibly important headshots were. She could see the difference in the number of auditions clients were getting based on not just how good but how specific the photos were. That made her even more passionate about getting the right shots for her  friends so that they could have the best chances. She realized headshots were the key to casting directors even opening a profile to look at a reel or resume. They are literally the first impression of an actor so they better be good.

Having the background that Leah does between acting, photography, and working at a Talent Management company has put her in the ultimate position to perfectly curate the looks that actors need in order to be considered. Leah works with the actor from a stance of what range of characters they will realistically be playing.

She will not shoot you in scrubs or costumes, nor will she allow you to look basic or boring. She will, however, advise you on colors, styling, moods and hair/makeup artists so you can get the most out of each look.

Leah also works from an actor/directors perspective. As much as we all love to look gorgeous that just isn't the most important thing to capture in a headshot. Every other person is beautiful in Hollywood. It's more about capturing the different essences that you embody within your own character that she wants to see come to life in your portraits. All of that said, she also truly loves working with actors. She was one, she knows the struggle and genuinely wants to help them avoid the mistakes and problems that she faced when trying to get the right shots.
